Tokyo — Polyurethane production in Japan in January 2018 was 10% higher than in January 2017, according to figures from Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
In total, 16.2 kT of polyurethane was produced in Japan in January 2018. This compares with 14.7kT in January 2017.
The country produced 10.3 kT of flexible foam in January 2017, compared with 9.7 kT in January 2017. Japan produced 6 kT of rigid foam in January 2018 compared with 5 kT in the same month in 2017.
This is the 27th straight month that production has increased in the country, according MITI.
