Washington, DC – The American Chemistry Council has named Joshua Baca as its new vice president, plastics. The previous VP of the division, Steve Russell, retired earlier this year.
ACC appoints new VP of plastics
Baca joins ACC from the American Beverage Association, where he was SVP of public affairs. While there, he led a new sustainability initiative, and helped advance community-based recycling projects. Prior to this, he worked in public affairs roles, and on Capitol Hill.
At ACC, he will oversee industry initiatives addressing plastic waste in the environment, including circular economic solutions, and the need for investment in recycling infrastructure.
‘Members of ACC’s Plastics Division have committed to ambitious goals around a circular economy for plastics, including a pledge to reuse, recycle or recover 100% of used packaging in the US by 2040,’ said ACC president and CEO Chris Jahn. ‘Joshua brings the right leadership and collaborative approach to help us achieve those goals.’
