St Louis, Missouri – Accella Performance Materials purchased three PU companies in two days in September this year.
Accella bought Premium Spray Products based in Marietta, Georgia, and Regina, Saskatchewan. Premium makes foams for insulation and roofing as well as formulations for niche applications which makes spray foams and specialised polyurethane systems.
The following day, Accella went on to complete the purchases of Burtin Polymer Labs and a second firm: Coating and Foam Solutions. Both are based in Cartersville, Georgia.
Accella said it had bought them to further strengthen its position in spray polyurethane foams and coatings for insulation and roofing.
Buying Premium Spray Products “supports Accella’s strategy to build the leading polyurethane systems house in North America,” said Andy Harris, president and ceo of Accella
Accella had a minimal presence in the spray foam sector prior to the purchases, according to Harris. “This is a strategic expansion into new markets and technologies, based on polyurethane systems,” he said.
Harris said the additions will increase the firm's revenues by at least 30%.
