St Louis, Missouri — Accella has gained International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) accreditation for its Tru-Motion branded athletic track system, Tru-Motion SA.
This is the second IAAF accreditation for one of its track systems, following the earlier accreditation of Tru-Motion SS, the company said. Accreditation is important as world records will only be ratified if they were achieved on an accredited track.
Tru-Motion SA is a sandwich running track construction that uses the TDI-free moisture cure polyurethane binder Tru-Motion H3020 in creating the base mat. Its handling characteristics and cure profile are similar to those of conventional products that contain TDI.
The seal coat, Tru-Motion S9326/H9417, is a thixotropic two-component polyurethane sealer. Finally, the system uses a self-leveling two-component polyurethane elastomeric product, S9431/H9748. Both of these products are free from TDI, mercury and heavy metals.
“We’ve brought together industry-leading technical composition expertise in polyurethane binder, rubber crumb, and colourants, all manufactured at Accella companies and packaged as the Tru-Motion Brand of products,” said Al Restaino, the company’s vp of marketing.
