Detroit, Michigan — Adient says it is collaborating with Boeing to explore "innovative comfort, efficiency and functional improvements in commercial aircraft seating and interiors."
Adient says that the collaboration will bring together Boeing's insight into the commercial aviation industry its technical specifications, and FAA certification requirements. Adient will bring its expertise in design, comfort, operational excellence and supply chain management.
According to counterpoint Market Research, the value of the aircraft interiors market is estimated to reach $21.7 bn by 2025 with a compound annual growth rate of 4.3% between 2016 and 2025. The industry is consolidated among the small number of providers, the consultants add.
“Boeing is building commercial aeroplanes at record rates,” says Ken Fisher, vice president and general manager supplier management, Boeing commercial airplanes.
