New York — Shares in Adient, the automotive seating business of Johnson Controls have started trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
Johnson Controls shareholders were given one Adient share for each 10 Johnson Controls shares they owned, according to a Johnson Controls press release.
Adient has 75,000 employees at 230 manufacturing and assembly plants in 33 countries. It has 17 seating joint ventures in China operating at 60 locations in 32 cities.
"Ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange is more than symbolic," said Bruce McDonald, Adient ceo.
