Allentown, Pennsylvania -- As a result of ever more stringent building directives, Air Products says there is a demand for improved insulation, leading to a requirement for increasingly thick insulation panels.
Dabco BA201 catalyst is a new processing additive from Air Products which aids the manufacturing process of thicker panels.
According to James Paul, market manager for rigid foam at Air Products, "Achieving sufficiently long 'lay down' times and a fast ´back-end´ cure is a challenge when producing thicker insulation panels. Dabco BA201 combines a delay during front-end to allow the foam to rise to high thicknesses, but cures more rapidly right after that. The combination of these properties is providing laminators with improved quality at higher productivity levels and ultimately lower costs", Paul added.
Dabco BA201 can also help improve surface cure and increase the stiffness of PIR (polyisocyanurate) boards.
