Dusseldorf, Germany - Alberdingk Boley has launched a new urethane-modified linseed oil-based polymer grade, Alberdingk OP 100, for woodcare applications, the company said recently.
According to the statement, the product gives good stain resistance on both hardwood and softwood substrates, and has wood-warming properties comparable to traditional solvent-borne binders.
The polymer can be applied as a one- or two-component system and is also being used in solvent-borne systems to reduce the amount of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), privately-owned Alberdingk said.
Alberdingk Boley said the oil-based urethane has 80-percent renewable content, and also complies with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) legislation. (RD)
