Bethesda, Maryland — The US Adhesives and Sealants Council (ASC) has appointed William Allmond as president. His term starts on 15 August, according to an announcement.
Allmond joins the ASC from the US Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA), where he worked for 10 years as vp government and public relations.
The council said that during his tenure in that role he turned SOCMA into a policy-leading body through increased staff and member company engagement. He launched SOCMA's grass-roots programme, called SOCMA Connect which increased the number of letters to congress and the number of visits congressmen and women made to member facilities, the council said.
At ASC he will be responsible for finance, developing programmes to grow the industry and build alliances within the ASC and between the ASC and other organisations, the council added.
