Sankt Augustin -Hennecke GmbH's owner Adcuram Group AG has appointed Alois Schmid to manage the company, taking over the management from Adcuram board members Dr Matthias Meise and Dr Ulf Lange.
"Schmid is expected to continue the positive development of this leading producer of polyurethane-processing machines and systems," said a 13 Oct statement from the group.
Adcuram will "continue to strongly support" Hennecke on a long-term basis, the statement added.
"Alois Schmid is the ideal choice … His 30 years' experience with plastics engineering is the best preparation," to continue the company's successful restructuring process, commented board member and co-owner of Adcuram, Dr Florian Meise.
Schmid has worked in plastics engineering for over three decades, largely with the KraussMaffei Group, where he was head most recently head of the extrusion department.
Schmid sees Hennecke as "a company with cutting-edge technology, a strong brand, a broad consumer base that grew over decades, and highly motivated and qualified employees," which results in high potential to take part in the strong growth in the international of the polyurethane market.
But he is also aware that this is a competitive market where Hennecke must "invest considerable time and effort, in expanding and developing its technical expertise."
Also, the company needs the freedom to restructure its sales department, he said. "Productivity must be increased and foreign markets expanded," Schmid added.
