Washington, DC – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) said investment in chemicals is exploding in the US markets.
According to the association’s Year-End 2013 Chemical Industry Situation and Outlook report, chemical manufacturers have been recovering from the recession since 2010 and seen double digit growth in capital spending.
ACC's chief economist Kevin Swift said: "American chemistry is back in the game.
“After a decade of lost competitiveness, American chemistry is reemerging as a growth industry.”
Swift said that the US was likely to see more than $60 billion (EUR 43.6) in domestic investments in equipment upgrades and efficiency investments.
