Tempe, Arizona - Amerisleep, a mattress company which offers only American-made products, claims its memory foam made using using VPF (variable pressure foaming) technology is superior to memory foam made with traditional manufacturing.
Amerisleep said the VPF process creates "unique" polyurethane foam via highly controlled manufacturing, using sealed chambers as opposed to open tanks for stability and consistency. The pressurised system is also used to develop precise firmnesses and densities for customisation
The bedding products firm, which is owned by online retail collective OneMallGroup, also claims that VPF PU foam has "clear environmental benefits over traditional manufacturing" because the process emits no chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) or auxiliary blowing agents (ABAs) as it requires less additives and all emissions are carbon filtered through vacuum chamber. The process also has no volatile organic compounds (VOCs), Amerisleep added in a 17 Nov news release.
