Boulder City, Nevada - Polyurethane tyre expert Amerityre Corp. has acquired manufacturing assets from Kik Technology Inc., a well known manufacturer of polyurethane foam tyres, which has gone out of business following the deal.
The assets Amerityre has bought from Oceanside, California-based Kik Technology include tyre models and moulds used to produce low-duty polyurethane foam cycle tyres.
These models and moulds allow Amerityre, "to produce a broader range of products to better service the low-duty cycle tyre market," said Dr Gary Benninger, Amerityre's president and chief executive officer, in an 18 March company statement.
Now that it has an expanded variety of tyre products and sizes, Benninger claims Amerityre will be able to offer customers a Flatfree-brand tyre for every use.
"This is a great addition to our foam tyre product line and we anticipate it will have a positive impact on our annual revenue. For fiscal 2006 (1 Feb 2006 - 31 Jan 2007) Kik reported sales in foam tyres of $1.86 million, and $937 645 for the nine months
ending 31 Oct 2007," he added.
William Knooihuizen, Kik's former president, has joined Amerityre as a senior account manager. "I am looking forward to working with the Amerityre management team to integrate the Kik line of tyres into the Amerityre product lineup," he commented.
