Burgos, Spain – Antolin, which makes automotive interiors and seating, generated total sales of EUR2.9bn in the third quarter of 2021. This is up 11.22% on the same period last year.
EBITDA across the business rose 45.8% to EUR 210m in the third quarter of 2021.
The company said it had grown faster than the automotive sector in what it described as an extremely challenging market. These results were achieved in the context of the severe impact that the semiconductor shortage in the industry is causing, as well as the generalised rise in raw material prices, it said.
With a 19% fall in worldwide vehicle production in the quarter, Antolin warned that the recovery from coronavirus will be longer than expected.
Antolin added it is working on thermal and acoustic insulation for electric vehicles that are lower weight to help position its products for the future.
