By David Reed, UT Editor Arlington, Virginia - The Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry (API) has issued a call for papers and posters to be presented at its Polyurethanes 2006 Technical Conference, running 25-27 Sep. in Salt Lake City, Utah. Proposed paper abstracts are due by 1 March 2006; poster abstracts by 1 May. Submission instructions, paper guidelines and templates can be found at API's web site, www.polyurethane.org. Polyurethanes 2006 Technical Conference represents an opportunity to reach an audience of as many as 1500 manufacturers and processors of polyurethane-based products across all industrial sectors. Papers and posters may address innovations and developments in any area of polyurethane, including flexible slabstock, flexible moulded, equipment/machinery, cast elastomers, thermoplastic polyurethanes, integral skin, RIM, binders/fillers, adhesives, sealants and more. API also encourages paper and poster submissions on breakthrough technology and innovations in polyurethane markets or chemistry, developing markets such as medical and fibreboard, and product areas such as rigid foam insulation or coatings. Presentations also may focus on issues such as combustibility, transportation, recreation, security, as well as environmental and stewardship issues, including emissions, regulatory developments, waste management and related topics. The highly successful Polyurethanes 2005 Technical Conference and Trade fair saw 18 authors receive awards at the conference for their papers and posters, as judged by their peers."
