Norwalk, Connecticut -- Arch Chemicals Inc. has added two executive vice presidents to its senior leadership team . Joe Shaulson and Luis Fernandez-Moreno assumed their new roles on 1 Sept 2010.

Fernandez-Moreno joins Arch from Dow Chemical Co. The new executives will report to Michael Campbell, Arch Chemicals' chairman, president and ceo.

"These two talented executives bring tremendous strategic leadership experience to Arch with their backgrounds in running major multinational business operations," said Campbell, in a 2 Sept statement.

"Joe Shaulson has already made a significant contribution to Arch in his two years with us, while Luis Fernandez-Moreno brings a wealth of global operational experience from Dow Chemical and Rohm & Haas. They will both play a vital role in capitalising on Arch's market-leadership positions around the world and in improving our profitability."

Shaulson, who was previously senior VP, Wood Protection and Personal Care Ingredients, will have responsibility as EVP for the global operations of Arch's Industrial Biocides, Personal Care Ingredients, and Performance Products businesses. He joined Arch in 2008 as Vice President, Strategic Development, and Arch said he has played a key role in sharpening Arch's focus on its biocides business portfolio. He led the team that divested the non-biocides Industrial Coatings business earlier this year to The Sherwin-Williams Co.

Fernandez-Moreno will be responsible for the global operations of the Company's HTH Water Products and Wood Protection businesses. At Dow Chemical, he was vice president of Dow Coating Materials.
