Colombes, France -- Arkema is highlighting its new global offerings for paint and coatings, together with its ambitions in Asia, at Chinacoat 2011 in Shanghai 23-25 Nov.
French chemicals group Arkema says it has now integrated Total's speciality resins (Cray Valley, Cook Composites & Polymers, and Sartomer) adding various polyurethane materials to its range, to give it a comprehensive portfolio in coating materials and technologies.
Arkema's presence at Chinacoat illustrates two of the Group's strategic commitments: to become a speciality chemicals leader, in particular in products and solutions for the coatings markets; and to speed up its development in Asia.
Recent acquisitions in coatings have made Arkema a leading supplier serving paint and coating producers around the world. Its new extensive portfolio, together with its recent and future plant start-ups in China, help Arkema better serve specific local customer needs, and are part of the Group's growth objectives to achieve a quarter of its sales in Asia by 2015.
Also part of the Arkema stand (G 41-50, Hall E2) will be its Coatex unit, offering waterborne rheology additives, dispersing agents, and thickeners. These include Coapur, a line of associative polyurethane thickeners which Arkema says "covers the full spectrum of rheology profiles, from newtonian to pseudoplastic, delivering exceptional flow and levelling behaviour."
