Antwerp, Belgium – Arpadis is now distributing bulk and packaged aliphatic diisocyanates from its site in Antwerp.
The company has supplies of HDI and IPDI. These can be used with polyaspartic amines to produce coatings with good UV, weathering , chemical and solvent resistance, it said.
The HDI has a molecular weight of about 168, with 50% isocyanate content. It is assayed at greater than 95.5%. IPDI grades, with a molecular weight of 222 and 37.5% isocyanate, share the same assay value.
Both are supplied as clear, viscous liquids at 100% solids for solution, in liquids including butyl acetate and xylene.
Because the materials have high solids, they can be used in low-to-zero VOC formulations, the company said.
