ASC appoints, adds 10 member companies

    Bethesda, Maryland -- The Adhesive and Sealant Council Inc. (ASC) has appointed Glenn Frommer, president of ADCO Products Inc. and a current ASC director, as the group's treasurer, replacing Marcello Boldrini who is pursuing a new business opportunity.

    William Campbell, president and ceo of Bostik, Inc. - Americas, will serve the remainder of Jeff Merkt's term as an ASC director to October 2011, the association said. Merkt has a new role to develop Bostik's efforts in China.

    Andrew Johnston, director, business development and strategy at Ashland Inc., will serve the remainder of Boldrini's board term to October 2012.

    Also, ASC's 13 May announcement said that it has added 10 new member companies in the past six months, bringing its total to 108.

    "ASC is an even stronger trade association with the addition of these new members," noted Jim Owens, ASC chairman and senior vice president, H.B. Fuller Co., in the ASC statement. "It is the Council's goal to always mirror the industry we serve. These companies bring additional diversity to the association and will enhance both the Council and other members through their active participation."

    The new members are:
    Arkema Emulsion Systems of Cary, North Carolina: acrylic, vinyl acrylic and styrene acrylic latexes, branched vinyl ester latexes, ethylene-modified latexes and acrylic monomers.
    DHM Adhesives of Calhoun, Georgia: makes environmentally safe hot-melt adhesives technology, and is a leading hot-melt contract manufacturing partner.
    Gala Industries Inc. of Eagle Rock, Virginia: centrifugal dryers and pelletising systems, offers custom- designed, turnkey pellet-production systems.
    Gelest Inc. of Morrisville, Pennsylvania: supplier of silanes, organosilicon compounds, modified silcones and metal-organic compounds.
    Guangdong Sanvo Chemical Industry Technology Ltd of Zhongshan, Guangdong, China: adhesives and silicones for the automotive parts industry
    Henry Co. of El Segundo, California: products that manage the flow of water, air and vapour through the building envelope-from foundation to roof.
    Jowat Corp. of Archdale, North Carolina: hot-melt, water-based, solvent-based, reactive and dispersion adhesives and is a global adhesives distributor.
    Palmetto Adhesives and Packaging of Greenville, South Carolina: industrial adhesives and hot-melt systems and parts for the North American packaging and converting industry.
    Sonoco of Hartsville, South Carolina: industrial and consumer packaging, provides innovative packaging solutions.
    Vigon International Inc. of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania: distributes adhesive raw materials -- resins and tackifiers sold directly to adhesive and coating manufacturers.
