Bethesda, Maryland-The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) in the US has issued a guide to the relationship between US and international standards on adhesives-"ASTM - ISO Standards Comparative Guide."
ASC says the guide "provides a general comparative reference of adhesive testing standards between ASTM International standards and related ISO (International Standards Organization) standards." This study focuses on ICS field 83 (Rubber and Plastics), Section 83.180 (Adhesives) within the overall ISO structure, the ASC added.
Chemsultants, Inc. developed this initial identification for ASC of the key similarities and differences between the adhesive testing methods of the two bodies. It is limited to general adhesive testing methods and does not try to address adhesive testing methodologies for specific industries or applications such as building materials, furniture, footwear, or others, the ASC stressed.
ASC is selling the guide for $695 per copy or $1995 for a global access license, with discounts for ASC members. See more at www.ascouncil.org/news/reports/standards.cfm "
