Dusseldorf, Germany -- Asia Polyurethane Manufacturing is looking to build a global network of systems houses that it can cooperate with to win and retain business, Erman Tan, chief executive officer, said on the sidelines of the recent K2013 show.
Tan said the company was founded in 1985 in Singapore and Tan said he was in Europe because "as a small, independent, systems house" he was looking to find other similarly sized systems houses or larger groups "to see if there is any fit for collaboration." He added that he and technical director, Christopher Forbes "had seen more than a handful of interested companies."
"There's been good interest so far," Tan said, adding, "six to eight are good fit for some of our businesses." Tan is looking at areas adjacent to the company's portfolio. These could be in thermoplastic polyurethanes, elastomers, specialist binders and other areas. "There are a lot of small/medium sized firms that focus on niche, areas," said Forbes.

Tan said his firm's goals are to "elevate the level of customer service and innovation, elevate the quality and support that systems houses can give customers through long-term collaboration" with other small systems houses.
"We are looking to collaborate for the long term with reliable partners," he said.
