West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania -- International standards agency ASTM is to hold a workshop to discuss organic chemical emission testing methods for spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation.
The development of a standard for small-chamber method of measuring emission of VOCs (volatile organis compounds) from SPF under appropriate environmental conditions will be one of the key topics on the day, ASTM said in a 3 June press release. And plans include panel presentations on topics such as techniques for measuring the levels of MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) and other possible constituents of SPF insulation.
The panel will also be discussing approaches for answering important questions regarding IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) compliance testing of SPF insulation and the establishment of building re-occupancy times after installation of SPF products.
The workshop will be held at the Tampa Marriott Waterside in Tampa, Florida, on 31 October 2011.
