Winterthur, Switzerland - Autoneum has hosted its first Automotive Acoustics Conference in Zurich on 7-8 July 2011 in cooperation with conference organisers ATZlive.
In more than 20 presentations, international experts presented the most recent developments for improving vehicle noise and comfort, the acoustics component maker said. The main topic of discussion at the conference was the optimisation of interior noise and NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) behaviour of materials, components and systems.
"The high number of top-class presentations and the more than 180 participants from major vehicle manufacturers and suppliers based in Europe, the USA and Asia prove that acoustics is of great importance in vehicle development," said Dr Maurizio Mantovani from Autoneum.
He added, "The growing demands made by the end customers and stricter legislation are now playing an important role in the optimisation of acoustics."
Previously known as Rieter Automotive Systems, Autoneum became an independent company in May of this year. The company makes sound-deadening acoustic components for the polyurethane sector, some using polyurethane material.
