Mobile, Alabama -- American WeatherStar (AWS) said it has received 'Notice of Acceptance' from the Miami Dade Building Code Compliance Office for its AWS Acrylic 211 roof coating for South Florida's high-velocity hurricane zone. The approval is for coating on substrates including spray polyurethane foam, modified bitumen, TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin), EPDM rubber, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and metal roofs.
Brian O'Donnell, president of American WeatherStar, said "This NOA gives us the ability to service contractors and building owners in one of the strongest coatings markets in the country. We worked with the people at Miami Dade for almost one year to receive all the necessary approvals and they were very helpful throughout the process. We look forward to working in this market."
American WeatherStar supplies energy-efficient, water-tight roof coatings, wall coatings, spray-foam insulation, and single-ply roofing systems for commercial and industrial buildings. These systems can be used to stop leaks, cool a building's interior, or simply for preventive maintenance, the company said.
