Sankt Augustin, Germany – Hennecke claims its new pump, the HX series, is the first axial piston pump to be produced exclusively for PU applications. It is the result of two years’ development.
The bearing seating on the pump’s housing allows for maximum flow around the bearing to facilitate heat dissipation, and prevent a rise in the reactive media temperature. The new pump has built-in cooling which, the company claims, allows it to operate in comparatively high ambient temperatures. Reduced surface temperature of the rolling elements is intended to prevent chemical degradation by polyol materials.
The pump's pressure resistance reaches up to 16 bar with open circulation, which Hennecke claims is up to 60% higher than comparative models. The combination of open circulation, open pump construction and improved suction makes it particularly suitable for use with highly viscous polyols, the company said, and it can be used without pre-pumps in some applications.
The pump was developed with new sensor technology and integrated smart features within the metering line. Pressure and temperature monitors are built into the pump housing. Additional internal sensors include a distance sensor for monitoring pump bearings to aid in predictive maintenance.
Hennecke said the HX series is more sustainable because of increased efficiency and the ability to process bio-based polyols and polyols containing recycled content.
It is manufactured at the company’s site in Sankt Augustin, Germany.
