Beirut – Baalbaki Chemical Industries plans to start making speciality polyurethanes in Turkey at a new plant in Mersin.
Baalbaki builds plant and tech centre in Turkey

'The plant we are building in Mersin will provide a strong regional production base. It will significantly improve proximity to our customers in Turkey,' said Hassan Baalbaki, managing director.
This marks the company's first production in the country and the Mersin site will also act as a technical service hub for local customers. Additionally, the site will be equipped with a laboratory, research and development facilities.
Baalbaki said the plant is scheduled to go live in December 2018. It is designed as a springboard into Turkey, Europe and Russia, Balbakki said.
He added: 'The investment in Mersin complements manufacturing facilities in Italy, the UAE and Egypt. It represents a turning point in the company's regional growth strategy.'
Mersin is a port city on Turkey's southern cost close to Adana.
