Lugwigshafen, Germany - BASF has announced price rises for key polyurethane pre-cursor chemicals butanediol and polytetramethylene ether glycol of between €80 and €50/tonne respectively.
The company says that it is taking advantage of the shortage of supply relative to growing demand to try and get the prices through as soon as possible.
Market reporting agencies suggest that the market for butanediol is flat that demand is stable.
