Mumbai – Karnataka-based helmet producer Vega Auto Accessories and BASF co-created a concept helmet designed to enhance style, comfort, safety and functionality of motorcycle riders in the Asia Pacific region.
'Our co-creations projects, such as the concept helmet, demonstrate how successful collaboration along the entire value chain can better serve market needs,' said Marilyn Lye, BASF’s vice-president, industrial business management, for performance materials in Asia Pacific.
BASF’s Creation Center teamed up with Vega and Elephant Design, an industrial design agency, to develop and design the lightweight helmet (shown above). It has ample ventilation, and is manufactured using the high performance material Infinergy E-TPU for the helmet interior to provide damping performance.
It also uses Elastollan TPU for the bottom ribs and soft pads to provide a smooth surface and soft-touch.
'The concept helmet blends futuristic design and technology to create premium quality helmets,' said Uttam Chandak, director of R&D at Vega.
