Chongqing, China – BASF and Yanfeng Adient are promoting polyurethane as an automotive seating material with a strategic partnership.
The agreement is formally between BASF and China’s Chongqing Yanfeng Adient Automotive Components .
Under the agreement, BASF will provide technical know-how for materials. Yanfeng Adient will make seats, research markets and test materials.
Yanfeng Adient has 18,000 employees across the country. It has been working with the German company in auto interiors since 2003.
‘We want to become better acquainted with the materials to develop more differentiated, innovative, and sustainable applications,’ said Yanfeng Adient’s chairman Wang Wuyang.
The partnership also aims to shorten development times and reduce production costs. It also expects to streamline the supply chain.
