Wyandotte, Michigan -- BASF Corp. in the US has appointed Ribelin Sales Inc. as its southeast and Gulf Coast US distributor for polyurethane chemicals to the CASE (Coatings, Adhesives & Binders, Sealants and Elastomers) market.
The group says that with its world-scale raw materials production facilities in Geismar, Louisiana, BASF has a strong presence in the CASE market via the direct and distribution sales channels. Adding Ribelin to the southeast and Gulf Coast regions strengthens BASF's presence, and further emphasises the strategic importance of the CASE market segment, the group said in a 24 Feb announcement.
Noting BASF's "top-quality technical support system in the southeast and Gulf Coast region," and Ribelin's success with polyurethanes in the territory, Robert Spadoni, ceo of Koda Distribution Group and President of Ribelin Sales Inc., said "We look forward to representing BASF polyurethane chemicals beginning in March."
BASF sees itself as a market leader in polyurethanes, supplying Lupranate aromatic MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) and TDI (toluene diisocyanate) and Pluracol polyether and graft copolymer polyols. Its isocyanates and polyether polyols for the CASE industry can be formulated to create a variety of coatings, adhesive, sealant, elastomer, and other specialty products.
