Wyandotte, Michigan -- BASF is collaborating with Carlisle SynTec to jointly market high-performance roofing, combining Carlisle's Sure-White EPDM FleeceBACK single-ply rubber membrane with BASF's polyurethane insulating technology.
Carlisle SynTec, headquartered in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, makes single-ply roofing systems and has manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Mississippi and Utah.
The roofing system combines BASF's spray polyurethane foam with Carlisle's FleeceBACK EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), a synthetic rubber. The system is designed to be durable, sustainable and energy efficient, as well as having "superior performance" for wind resistance and waterproofing, BASF said in a 21 June statement.
"We are looking forward to working with Carlisle SynTec to offer building solutions that advance roofing systems," said Michael Sievers, spray systems business manager, BASF.
He added, "The combined roofing system will deliver a new sustainable advantage for the builder and facility manager as well as dramatically change the performance measures in roofing systems."
The companies noted that a 10, 15, 20 or 30-year warranty is available for the system.
