Wyandotte, Michigan - BASF's Cellasto business, which makes microcellular polyurethane elastomer parts of the automotive industry, has been recognised by Ford Motor Co. as a preferred supplier.
Ford presented BASF with a Q1 certification, which acknowledges suppliers for "superior quality and delivery, and the ongoing implementation of an effective quality system," BASF said in a news release.
In order to be eligible for the award, suppliers must initially achieve and then maintain a performance score more than 800 points. BASF said its Cellasto plant maintains a status of more than 1300 points, making it one of Ford top suppliers.
"Receiving Ford's Q1 award is an honour and we are very proud of this accomplishment," said Jim Miller, BASF Cellasto Quality Manager. "This achievement is the result of the entire team's effort and celebrates our ongoing commitment to provide quality products and services that exceed customer expectations."
