Münster, Germany - BASF Coatings is completely rebuilding and refurbishing its Glasurit training centre in Münster, Germany, the company has announced.
Work on the building, which will house classrooms, spraybooths and preparation and work bays will take until July 2009 - the date for the reopening of the Resource Competence Centre (RCC).
"We are making the RCC a hub of our European network," said Jürgen Book, head of customer service at BASF Coatings. The new RCC will, he said, be the flagship for the training activities of the Strategic Business Unit Automotive Refinish Coatings.
Improvements announced by BASF include seminar rooms being equipped with advanced media technology supplemented by a modern colour training area and a show car zone in the entrance area.
"Our aim at the RCC in the future is also to be able to simulate efficient workshop processes and so help the customers to consistently improve the efficiency of their businesses, and to this end, extensive modernisation is necessary. When the rebuilding is complete our training centre in Münster will be one of the best in Europe," added Jürgen Book.
The modernisation of the site involves a substantial investment of some Euro 3 million, the company said.
