Ludwigshafen, Germany -- BASF SE has declared a force majeure on some of its plasticisers following "an unforeseeable technical defect" at its INA (iso-nonanol) plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany, a 21 July company statement said.
BASF is currently unable to produce the plasticisers Plastomoll DNA, Palatinol N, Hexamoll DINCH and selected Palamoll grades (652, 654, 656 and 858).
The company has shut down the INA plant to complete repairs and expects to restart production within the next 14 days, the statement said. (RD)
