By Patrick Raleigh UT On-line news editorLudwigshafen, Germany-BASF AG is raising its adipic acid prices in Europe, the Americas and Asia, for the second time this month. Under the latest increase, to take effect from 19 April, prices will go up by Euro100/tonne in Europe, $100/tonne in the Americas, and $150/tonne in Asia. The measures, which follow hikes of Euro80-100/tonne at the start of April, are due to "a continuous deterioration of margins, which is driven by drastically increasing raw material costs," BASF said 16 April. With a world scale production plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany, BASF is a leading global supplier of adipic acid-a raw material for the production of polyurethanes and polyamide. "
