Ludwigshafen, Germany -- BASF is to increase prices for methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and polyol basic products in Europe, by Euro 200 per tonne. The increased take effect immediately, or as contracts allow, the group announced 25 January.
According to the German-headquartered polyurethanes supplier, these price rises are related to "the significant rise in raw material and energy costs."
BASF also noted that prices for polyurethane systems and specialties will also be raised accordingly, as contracts permit.
