By David Reed, UT EditorFlorham Park, New Jersey-BASF Corp, North American arm of the Ludwigshafen, Gerrmany-based chemicals major, has a new management structure, following the 31 Dec retirement of Frank McKulka, its executive vice president and president of the former NAFTA II region for BASF.The firm has appointed Patrick Prevost as president of its chemicals, plastics and performance products business segments, and Hans Engel as president of its agricultural products and fine chemicals business segments, according to a 20 Dec statement; both appointments relate to the BASF operations in North America and take effect from 1 Jan 2005, the statement added.Engel will continue to manage the North American service platform, including all financial operations, purchasing, logistics, EH&S (environment, health and safety), and information systems, the statement continued. He has been executive vice president and chief financial officer of BASF Corp since Aug 2000, having joined BASF AG in Ludwigshafen, in 1988 as a member of its legal department.Prevost only joined BASF in December 2003 after 21 years with Amoco Chemical Co and BP Chemicals, initially serving as president of BASF's former NAFTA I region."
