Ludwigshafen, Germany-BASF has extended its range of Uvinul light stabilisers for plastics to include three new products, one of which, Uvinul 4092 H, is aimed at the polyurethanes market. Uvinul4092 H is a liquid monomeric HALS (hindered amine light stabiliser), and its main applications are in polyurethane, PVC and in liquid colourants for polyethylene terephthalate (PET).The other two products-UV absorber Uvinul 3034 for (PET), polyamide and polycarbonate and Uvinul 5062 H for polyolefins, olefin copolymers and in blends of polypropylene and elastomers-have also been approved by the EU and the FDA for use in food-contact applications, BASF said.
