Karachi, Pakistan -- BASF Polyurethanes opened a technical development centre at it's polyurethane production site in Landhi, Karachi on 9 September, the company said in a statement.
The centre, which includes techncial service provision, will help the Pakistani home appliances, furniture, construction, footwear and transportation sectors and is designed to complement BASF's offerings, technical expertise and strategic collaborations in the region, the company said.
It will help suppliers meet "the local technical specifications of OEM's for 4-& 2-Wheelers in the transportation segment, meeting high energy star rating in appliance, providing technical edge to key accounts in footwear and smart housing solutions for construction," said. Hyoung Soon Moon, vice president Asia Pacific, Performance Materials, Polyurethanes.
Qazi Sajid, managing director, BASF Pakistan (Private) Limited said, "we are now able to serve our customers better and faster. It will enhance the quality and efficiency of technical services."
