Ludwigshafen, Germany -- BASF is increasing its prices for neopentylglycol by €0.15/kg, trimethylolpropane by €0.19/kg and hydroxypivalic acid and neopentylglycolester by €0.15/kg, with immediate effect.
The company said in a 30 Nov statement that the increase is due to increased operating costs and rising raw material prices.
Polyalcohols are widely used in solvent-free coatings as well as in the production of polyurethanes, alkyd resins and synthetic lubricants. (ss)
