Ludwigshafen, Germany -BASF is raising the prices for its Lupragen-brand polyurethane (PU) catalysts in Europe. The rise takes effect immediately, or as existing contracts allow, and are as follows:
Lupragen N100 (dimethylcyclohexylamine) + 0.10 €/kg
Lupragen N101 (dimethylethanolamine) + 0.10 €/kg
Lupragen N105 (n-methylmorpholine) + 0.10 €/kg
Lupragen N107 (dimethylaminoethoxyethanol) + 0.35 €/kg
Lupragen N301 (pentamethyldiethylenetriamine) + 1.00 €/kg
Dimethyldipropylenetriamine + 0.10 €/kg
Lupragen N205 (bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl)ether)) + 0.30 €/kg
Lupragen N206 (bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl)ether)) + 0.30 €/kg
BASF said its Lupragen catalysts are used in making PU foams, to facilitate the reaction of the isocyanate and polyol. The particular catalyst required depends on the desired properties of the PU foam.
BASF has more than 20 PU catalysts in its range, and claims this makes it a "world leader in this segment." The company produces PU catalysts in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Geismar, Louisiana.
