Ludwigshafen, Germany - BASF has released more information about the explosion which happened yesterday at 10am local time at the TDI (toluene diisocyanate) construction project at the firm's Ludwigshafen site.
The explosion occurred during ground works and BASF believes it to have been caused by "an explosive device, presumably a bomb dating from the Second World War."
The company added that one person was injured and will be kept in hospital for a few days as a precaution.
