Nuremberg, Germany -- BASF’s PU aerogel insulating material for roller shutter casings and window jambs Slentite will be presented at the Frontale trade show from today (16 March, 2016).
Window specialist Beck + Heun has incorporated Slentite into its product range. The firm’s development director Michael Kruger said the material had improved Beck + Heun’s insulation record by 35%.
Marc Fricke, Slentite project manager at BASF Polyurethanes, said: “We now have the chance to eliminate thermal weak points in the building envelope, prevent damage and enhance interior comfort.”
It is inserted between the window frame and the masonry. The PU aerogel can be installed as thermal insulation wedges between walls and windows indoors and outdoors, regardless of the window frame material, according to BASF.
The product will be displayed at building supplier’s stand 352 in Hall 7 at Frontale.
