Cologne, Germany - Albrecht Baumer GmbH & Co. KG used the Interzum bedding and furniture exhibition to launch a new robotic addition to its range of machinery.
Designated B-Bot, it is a robotic handling system which sits in the foam cutting process.
The robot stands between two contour cutting machines arranged in parallel, grips and transports foam strips or cut-off.
The machine's controls and those of the CNC cutting machines are interconnected enabling a high degree of automation.
Albrecht Baumer says advantages of the new machine include vertical alignment of foam edges so vertical contour cuts produce little waste and there is no longer a need for height adjustable conveyors. Additionally it operates in little space and can automatically remove waste.
