Fremont, California – Bay Materials has added a 1mm thick version of its Zendura polyurethane sheet material for orthodontic clear aligner therapy.

The company claims that lab tests show this 1mm thick sheet is the ‘most crack resistant and overall durable material commercially available for orthodontic applications’. These applications include post-treatment retainers, nightguards, bite guards and special positioning appliances.
The material is made from proprietary, medical-grade TPU resin. Bay Materials claims this is the only commercially available polyurethane material for dental applications.
Each 125mm diameter sheet is individually wrapped in a moisture-barrier foul pouch. The average life of the material is up to three years, the company says.
