Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Bayer MaterialScience llc's president and ceo Greg Babe will become the new president and ceo of Pittsburgh-based Bayer Corp., the company announced 31 July.
The board has also appointed Babe as senior Bayer representative for the group's US and Canadian operations, both effective 1 Oct 2008. His predecessor, Attila Molnar will retire following 30 years with the company.
Bayer said that Babe will continue in his current role as president and ceo of BMS where he has led the BMS NAFTA region since 2004. Previously Babe had been responsible for central administration and service activities in the US and Canada as head of Bayer Corporate and Business Services, among other management positions at the company.
Bayer employs 17 000 staff at more than 50 sites in the US, including over 20 production facilities.
