London - Patrick Thomas, chief executive officer of Bayer MaterialScience AG - the world's leading supplier of raw materials for the polyurethanes sector - is to make the keynote address at the UTECH Europe 2009 event. This major international conference and exhibition for the sector runs 31 March - 2 April 2009 at the Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre (MECC) in the Netherlands.
Event organiser Crain Communications Ltd has issued a final call for papers, asking PU technologists to offer presentations detailing the latest advances in polyurethanes by no later than 20 March 2008.
The Bayer chief's presentation will set the scene for this major event, and will be followed by a session on the morning of 31 March 2009 focussing on the sustainability of the PU sector and its products.
ISOPA (the European Diisocyanate and Polyols Producers Association) is planning to select a variety of specialists to create a full afternoon session addressing key issues including: an overview of polyurethane sustainability; users' experiences of ISOPA's safe-working programme - Walk the Talk; and the latest status of the European Union's Reach (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) legislation, which is now well into implementation.
The conference runs alongside a major exhibition featuring more than 100 companies supplying materials, equipment and other services to the PU sector.
