Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania -- Bayer MaterialScience has become a member of the Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments (ASBE), the company said in a 5 April press release.
ASBE, which consists of a group of companies that are leaders in sustainability, aims to raise awareness of sustainable development and promote its bottom-line benefits.
Bayer MaterialScience, through its EcoCommercial Building (ECB) initiative, will work with ASBE in North America to advance practical implementation of eco-friendly and economically viable commercial building design and construction solutions, the company said in the statement.
"Bayer MaterialScience sees great value in working with like-minded organisations, such as ASBE, and providing solutions through our ECB Network," commented Paul Platte, head of ECB in North America.
He added, "We believe joining forces will help move the needle from awareness, to early adoption, to what is ultimately the widespread, practical implementation of integrated building solutions, which is the focus of ECB."
Bayer said the ECB programme brings together an interdisciplinary network of organisations that provides products and services for the integrated design and construction of commercial buildings that are eco-friendly and economically viable.
