Dubai --The Bayer Pearl systems house joint venture founded in 2007 plans to move within Dubai and invest in new facilities, the joint venture partners said in a statement.
Bayer MaterialScience and Pearl Insulation Materials Industries plan a "significant" but unquantified investment. The parents say that this will include new technology and production.
Ground breaking is scheduled for 14 June 2014 and Amana Contracting and Steel Buildings have been engaged to build the new facility at the Dubai Investment Park. The new facility is expected to be completed in 2015, said the firms.
The new site will feature research, development and application laboratories as well as manufacturing technology and a demonstration centre displaying a broad range of high-tech materials, the companies said.
"The Middle East is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, and Dubai serves as the ideal base for Bayer Pearl to further strengthen our presence in the region. The new site at Dubai Investments Park (DIP) will host offices and operations of Bayer Pearl.
"DIP is strategically located close to Jebel Ali Port and the new Dubai World Central airport. Furthermore, the new site allows us to expand our competence in developing new applications and manufacturing processes for our materials in close collaboration with our customers” said Thorsten Eschmeier, ceo of Bayer Pearl.
