Leverkusen, Germany -Bayer MaterialScience is raising prices for polyurethane systems for use in the automotive sector in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) by Euro 0.15/kg, with effect from 1 Jan 2008.
BMS added that, irrespective of this, prices for all Bayfill systems for use in instrument panels are to be raised by Euro 0.40/kg.
The group said this additional increase is "because these systems are highly development-intensive and require special technical support."
Also, BMS said, as a result of "a steep rise in the price of a key raw material, prices for all Bayflex 180/190 systems for automotive bodywork components are to be increased by Euro 0.25/kg."
BMS said contractual obligations are not affected by these rises.
